About
Corby Pride: History and Future
While Corby has a long history of community celebrations (such as the Pole Fair dating back to 1585), Corby Pride is a relatively recent addition to the town’s cultural calendar.
Managed by Corby Town Council and a dedicated Pride Working Group, the event celebrates the local LGBTQ+ community and their allies.
Timeline of Events
2023: The Inaugural Event The very first Corby Pride took place on Saturday 10th June 2023. Despite soaring temperatures reaching 30°C, the event was considered a resounding success. It established the tradition of a parade starting at The Cube and concluding with a festival at Coronation Park.
2024: Growth and Expansion The second event was held on Saturday 22nd June 2024. Building on the first year’s success, this iteration featured two stages: a main stage for headline acts and a new community stage for local groups. It was supported by the National Lottery Community Fund and various local sponsors.
2025: Weather Cancellation The 2025 event was scheduled for June 7th but was unfortunately cancelled due to severe weather warnings and public safety concerns. After consulting with stakeholders, the organisers determined it was not possible to reschedule for the same year.
2026: Future Plans Organisers have already announced that Corby Pride will return on Saturday 13 June 2026. Work is currently underway to create a celebration described as “more vibrant, proud, and unifying than ever before.”
Standard Event Format
Historically, Corby Pride follows a specific route and structure:
The Parade: Begins at The Cube (George Street), traveling through Westcott Way and Elizabeth Street. 12pm – 12:30pm
The Festival: Held at Coronation Park, featuring live music, food and craft stalls, bars, and a dedicated children’s zone and a neurodiversity safe space
